Kagan

The Johnson County School District has successfully completed phase one of the Kagan training, thanks to Superintendent Cochran, the Johnson County Board of Education, the Full-Service Community Schools Grant, and the Wilderness Education Project. This initiative, part of a five-year grant in partnership with Pikeville Independent, involved a wide range of participants, including Teacher Leaders, SEL Specialists, Community School Coordinators, Principals/Assistant Principals, Superintendents, and District Administration. The year-long training included five Kagan Training Days and two Kagan Coaching sessions.

Phase two, set to begin on August 1st and 2nd, will include all faculty from Pre-K through 12th grade. We are beyond excited about this district-wide initiative to embed cooperative learning structures into our high-quality instructional resources and daily instruction. This collaborative approach promises to enhance our educational practices, fostering an engaging and supportive learning environment for all students.
