The Johnson County Board of Education held its monthly meeting on Monday, September 23rd, where the Porter Elementary Light House Team led the Pledge of Allegiance and extended an invitation to all in attendance to join Porter Elementary's upcoming Leadership Day. Kyleigh Sparks was proudly introduced as the new Junior Student Board Representative. The Golden Eagle Award was presented by Superintendent Cochran to two exceptional employees, Tracy Kestner of Highland Elementary and Debbie Matney of Porter Elementary, for their dedication and contributions.
The evening also featured the Best Between the Lakes Awards, celebrating regional excellence. Chairman of the Board, Mr. Bob Hutchison, was honored as Best Board Member, John Robinson received recognition as Best E-Sports Coach, and Principal Ashley Lemaster, along with Porter Elementary, was named Best Elementary School. Principal Sharon Davis and Johnson County Middle School were awarded Best Middle School, while Principal Justin Arms and Johnson Central High School received the Best High School award.
It was a memorable evening, celebrating our Eagles' hard work and achievements. Soar high, Eagles!
