Johnson County Schools welcomes newly appointed District #4 Board Member, Mr. Willard Burton. In addition to being a Johnson Central High School graduate, Willard has been involved with the school system for many years as an elementary basketball/football coach and middle school football coach. He has even assisted with high school basketball. He retired from the Johnson County Fiscal Court after 33 years of service and brings a unique perspective and insight to his new position as a board member. With a desire to see improved buildings, grounds, and technology, Mr. Burton has a goal “to ensure the best education for our students.” Supt. Thom Cochran stated that he looks forward to working with Willard and is confident that he will be a great servant to the students, staff, and community in the Johnson County School District. Willard resides in Flat Gap along with his wife, Joanie, who retired from Johnson County Schools in 2018 after 15 years of service in the lunchroom program.
