52 students from JCHS traveled to Louisville for the HOSA State Leadership Conference. The students that placed in the top 3 of their category qualified to attend the HOSA International Conference in Orlando, Fl. June 18-23.
The 2019 HOSA members racked up gold, silver, and bronze sending 23 students to internationals in Orlando, Florida. JCHS was first in the HOSA Bowl and Community Awareness competition areas, which consisted of Mahala Ward, Austin Cantrell, and JT Dials in HOSA Bowl and Colby Little, Dalton Woody, and Logan Woody in Community Awareness.
In second place were Joleen Blackburn for Biomedical Lab Science and Jaxson Ratliff with Sarah Thompson for Health Education. Independently, Haley Crace placed third in Medical Assisting but this 2019 HOSA group had two teams of students that also got the bronze.
Megan Ratliff, Lindsay Campbell, Blair Rice, Macy Frisby, Marigrace Blanton, Kaitlyn Wright, and Regan Music placed third in PSA. Their comrades Grant Bingham, Grant Rice, Devin Johnson, Dylan Preston, Lexi Scarberry, and Kenzie Martin who also placed third in MRC Partnership.
In the top five, Lauren Hardin and Cleo Wells placed in Existing Medical Innovations; Chloe Deskins, Blake Cochran, and Addie Short placed in Creative Problem Solving; and Faith Fairchild placed in Medical Terminology making 2019 a triumphant year for Johnson Central’s HOSA club.
