Senior Checklist *This is it seniors your last semester of high school. You have a lot of important tasks you need to complete to be prepared for your future endeavors. 1. All Seniors should have already filled out your FAFSA (This is the application for government funding for college or vocational school) 2. Apply to and visit if possible all the schools you plan on attending in the fall. Check out campus and make an informed decision about your future career goals. Not all schools have programs or majors to fit your needs. 3. Please order your cap and gown and any other senior memorabilia you may want to commemorate your 4 fabulous years at JCHS. The following are ways you can place your order: Online with Jostens.com, through mail with paper order form, or call in your order at 1-800-854-7464. 4. Send out all your transcripts and get your best ACT scores to your college choices. 5. Check your KHEAA account and make sure your KEES money is there waiting for you when you start school in the fall. The website for KHEAA is KHEAA.com they also have information about scholarships and student loans. 6. Always stop by my office, check your email, or check out school social media sites for any new scholarship information. 7. Most importantly remember I am available at any time for you when you have a question or need something to complete your applications. You can email me Sherrie.grierson@johnson.kyschools.us or you can message me through the senior facebook page Johnson Central High School class of 2019/2020.

We had approximately 140 juniors register for the FREE February 8 ACT! Great decision, kids! If they need help printing their admission tickets or don't have a government-issued photo ID, they can stop in and see Mrs.Caudill after noon daily. If they were absent today and still wish to register, they can pick up a voucher from their chemistry teacher.

JCHS Juniors and their parents: On Monday, 11th graders wishing to take the ACT for FREE on February 8 (saves you $52) will register in their chemistry classes. Again, half of the registrants will take the test on their charged chromebooks and the other half will take the test via paper and pencil. Who gets what format is predetermined by ACT, not JCHS. In order to make the registration process smooth, if they already have an act.org account, make sure they have their log in information handy. If they lost it, they can click "forgot user ID or password" to recover it. If they complete the recovery process and still aren't successful, the student must call ACT (not parent) 319-337-1270 until 9PM tonight to have it reset. A copy of a sample voucher is attached for your info, but your child will get their own specific voucher on Monday.
