Junior Caylee Caudill has been participating in the Appalachian Career Training in Oncology (ACTION) Program. She applied for the program and was selected to participate with other high school students and UK students. The program consists of monthly meetings and two 5-week summer programs.
During this time, she and the other participants wrote essays about cancer, its affect on Appalachia, and ways to combat it. Her essay can be found in the 2nd edition of “The Cancer Crisis in Appalachia:Kentucky Students Take Action”. The book will be featured in the JCHS Library and students are welcome to stop in to read Caylee’s chapter.
Caudill is a 4.0 student who plans to attend UK and become a Surgical Oncologist. We are so proud of her participation in this amazing opportunity.
