Students enrolled in our JCHS School Store class are getting hands on experience in running a t-shirt business! These students are screen printing t-shirts and creating embroidery designs, but are also running the business side of the store and selling them at our home football games and during designated store hours.
Students are learning business terminology, how to calculate their cost of production, and the difference between gross and net profits.
Parents of children 16 and over please ensure that your child has received their Meningococcal booster and is up to date on their Hepatitis A vaccine. If they have not received them, please get them in as soon as possible (before December 1st) and bring in, email samantha.garrett@johnson.kyschools.us, or fax an up to date copy of the immunization record to 606-789-2547. Our center was selected to pilot computer-based national ACT exams for the December exam dates. When registering for the following dates, make sure to select the appropriate method:
Paper/pencil testing: October 28 and 29
Computer testing: December 10 and 11

After a brief power outage did some damage last week, Help Desk student Savannah Mollett replaced a power supply to get Ms. Kim Taylor's computer back up and running. First major JCHS Help Desk repair of the year!
Johnson Central High School’s FCCLA Student Organization and Young Women Lead Club are excited to host the 59th annual Miss Apple Blossom Festivities! This year we will be bringing back a few past traditions and hope to see as many past winners join us as possible! Please check the Official Kentucky Apple Festival page for updates regularly as we make these announcements.
The pageants will be held on Saturday, September 30th beginning at 5:00 P.M. for Junior Miss Apple Blossom with Miss to follow at 7:00 P.M.

JCHS officially launched the BARR10 program today. BARR10 is a scale up of the 9th grade BARR program (Building Assets Reducing Risks) aimed at providing social/emotional support, academic monitoring and intervention, and other risk prevention to 10th graders. #BARRCenter

Parents, if you filled out the online dental form while doing the registration for your student we need you to fill out a paper form also. That form was sent home last week. Please fill it out and return by Friday. Forms are available in the youth service center if you need one.

Students, when you arrive at school in the morning, please check your schedule in your Infinite Campus. We have dealt with leveling overcrowded classes the last few days and had to rearrange when some sections were taught, which has affected several schedules. Do not use a screenshot from weeks ago. Today's English spotlight is on the English department chair, Mrs. Amiee Cantrell-Webb. Mrs. Webb is the high school curriculum director and GSP coordinator and dual credit coordinator in addition to teaching a section of AP Literature and AP Language. She is excited to see her students this year.

Here are some safety reminders for dropping off and picking up students. Follow one of the two routes (red or blue arrows) to access the rear student drop off/pick up areas (outlined in green).
DO NOT pull into the staff lot (outlined in black) to drop students off in the morning or to pick them up in the afternoon.
