50’s Day fun with a special lunch and ice cream floats!





Porter’s STREAM Lab engineers are rocking the alien parachute challenge! Students investigate the landing to determine the alien’s safety. If improvements need to be made, students troubleshoot the parachutes and landing pods to make them better! #JCSTREAM #Eagle4Life





Cyber Safe Families will be doing a presentation for parents/guardians of Johnson County students on Tuesday October 25th from 6-8 pm at the Country Music Museum. Detective Lemon, the founder of Cyber Safe Families spent 16 years of his career hunting online predators and putting "bad guys" in prison. His mission began to save every child from online predators. He has worked on hundreds of internet crimes against children cases and says there is one difference between kids who are victimized and kids who are safe, and that is Education. Students from Porter Elementary who have a parent or guardian attend this event will be awarded house points for their classroom.


The Family Resource Center will be hosting a Family Movie Night on Friday October 21st from 8-10pm. This event was originally going to be outside but due to cold weather it will now be in the gym. Snacks will be provided and since this is a family night parents must attend with their children.


Thank you Van Lear Fire Department for speaking to our kids about fire safety and giving them a tour of a fire truck! October is Fire Safety Month!!!





3rd graders continue to practice the Distributive Property of Multiplication! Legos and dabbers for the win!
